Is your strategy worth trading? Expectancy is what you make on average per trade, in R (multiples of your risk).
What the SizeGuard journal does
- One tap from the calculator: “Log this trade” fills in market, size, entry and stop for you.
- Separate journals for futures, stocks, crypto and Forex, with the right fields for each.
- Stats that matter: net P&L, win rate, profit factor, average win and loss, average R, equity curve, and a calendar of green and red days.
- Setups and mistakes: tag Breakout, Pullback, Reversal and more, plus FOMO, moved stop or oversized, and see what each one costs.
- Daily card: plan before the open, review after the close, mood, lessons and a motivation line.
- Pending orders and quick R logging for fast days, and CSV import and export.
- Private: everything stays on your phone, with backup to a file.

Questions
What should a trading journal track?
At minimum: date, market, long or short, entry, stop, exit, size, profit or loss, and the R multiple (result divided by planned risk). Add the setup you traded, any mistakes, and how you felt. That is what turns a list of trades into lessons.
What is a good win rate?
It depends on your average win versus average loss. With wins twice the size of losses (2R vs 1R), anything above 33.3% is profitable before fees. Use the expectancy calculator above to check your own numbers.
Is a spreadsheet good enough?
It works, but it is easy to stop filling it in. A journal that pre-fills the trade from your position size and shows stats instantly is much easier to keep up every day.
