Crypto position size calculator
How much BTC, ETH or any coin can you buy so your stop risks only your chosen dollars? Type entry, stop, risk and your exchange’s smallest step.
The formula
Coins = Risk $ ÷ (Entry − Stop), in steps your exchange allows. Example: BTC entry $65,000, stop $64,000: $1,000 risk per coin. $250 ÷ $1,000 = 0.25 BTC.
Trading fees on crypto are often a percent of the trade value on both sides. The SizeGuard app can include them in the risk.
Questions
How do I calculate crypto position size?
Coins = dollars you are willing to lose ÷ (entry price − stop price). Round down to the smallest amount your exchange allows, for example 0.001 BTC.
Does leverage change my position size?
No. Leverage changes the margin you put up, not the loss at your stop. Size from the stop distance, then check you have enough margin.
What is the coin increment?
The smallest amount of a coin your exchange lets you buy, like 0.0001 BTC or 1 DOGE. The calculator only returns sizes in that step.
